The free-roaming Mustang is descended from horses that originated on the Iberian peninsula. Brought to the Americas by the Spanish, the horses moved west along with the Europeans. When Native Americans acquired the Mustangs, they began using the horses to hunt, to pull loads and in battle. Today, herds of Mustangs roam the Western U.S. and their population is managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. This beautiful foal measures 3.5''L x 3.1''H.
