Oriental Tea Bread Recipe:
- 1/2 Cup butter or margarine
- 3/4 Cup brown sugar
-2 tsp. grated lemon peel
-2 tsp. grated orange peel
-3 Cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
-1 tsp. baking powder
-1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. Ginger
- 3/4 Cup Orange Juice
- 1/2 Cup steeped tea, cooled
- 1/2 Cup chopped almonds
Cream butter or margarine with brown sugar, add egg and grated lemon and orange peels. Sift flour with salt, baking powder, soda, and spices. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture alternately with orange juice and tea. Add almonds. Bake in greased and floured Bundt pan at 350 F for 35-45 minutes, or until bread tests done.
